Flat Abs

Tighten your turn each time you go through a door (pull you belly button toward your spine) to work your deepest ab muscles – the transverse abdominis.

Taut Tush

As you brush your teeth, bend knees slightly. Squeeze butt cheeks and tilt hips forward as far as you can, keeping back flat. Hold 10 seconds then release. Repeat until you finish brushing.

Sleek Arms

While working set the straps of your grocery bag or purse on your forearm near elbow, bending arm 90 degrees, elbow close to waist. Tighten abs and contract biceps. Switch sides.

Toned Thighs

When you load and empty the dishwasher, squat to insert and remove items, rather than bending at the waist.

That’s it! Easy tricks to trim down those fats, definitely effective especially if you do them everyday.  Goodluck! :)

You Should Buy Baby Gifts Online

Feb 27th, 2011 Posted in baby's accessories, gifts, shopping | no comment »

girafIf you are not a fan of shopping online, here are some reasons you may want to reconsider. Let’s say you are buying baby stuff for a friend or family members baby shower. You already know that they are doing the baby’s room with a theme like a cartoon character or something else, and you want to make sure the gift you give them is something that fits that theme. You also know that you want to get them things the baby will use, not so much toys, but rather hooded towels and baby blankets and such.  You need to buy more than one because it will get used constantly and need to be washed all the time so having extras will be helpful. New parents can never seem to have enough burp cloths in the house at any one time.  You want exactly what you have thought of, you want it for a great price, and you want it now. But if you go to the store, there may be limited selection as people have already come through and bought the more popular items.

Shopping online, you are more likely to find a wide variety and an abundance of selection. You will also find better prices because there is a greater selection and less expense to the company selling the product. Shopping online is a great way to get what you want like burp cloths, baby blankets or hooded towels and not over pay for it. You get all of this without having to leave your home. That’s a great deal for anyone and you will be amazed at the great selection you will find online, the stores cannot compete with it.

Hassle Free Grooming

Feb 20th, 2011 Posted in waxing | one comment »

Has anyone of you hear did a Brazilian wax procedure? It has been my long time goal to go Brazilian especially when one of my online buddies told me that when she has it she feels younger and more beautifully confident. Other than that confident boosting appeal she also felt the convenience of not shaving every now and then just to clean that private area.

Well, I really want that so much –a hassle free grooming! It is really irritating when I have to shave almost every other day or 2 days after. I feel like whenever I shave I waste an hour of my day just to be cleaned. I am not saying that I don’t want to be clean it is just that an hour can be more fruitful if I do some other things than shaving, right? I just hope you do get my point there.

That is why, I tried researching about Brazilian waxing and I got some data already that has helped me a lot in terms of deciding. Though some of my friends said that it is painful and other have some gruesome side effects and after results, I thought that it all depends on the center or the expert that will do the procedure plus with the client’s after result care. I opted to trust my online buddy and ask about her experience. She said Urbana was the perfect place to be. Luckily, she was willing to help me and recommended me to the experts that made her feel younger and more beautiful inside.

Five Best Foods for Runners

Feb 20th, 2011 Posted in foods, heath, nutrition | no comment »

Choosing the ultimate running superfoods can help you stay slim, fuel up and recover. Make sure these five items are on your shopping list.

3Almonds supply a decent dose of vitamin E, which studies have shown can help stave off post-workout soreness. Toss almonds on top of oatmeal or spread a tablespoon of almond butter on apples or bananas, but don’t go nuts – they’re still relatively high in calories.

6Eggs are egg-cellent energy sources, thanks to their protein content. Runners tend to load up on carbs but skimp on protein. Not only does protein provide energy, but it’s essential to recovery, as it repairs tissue damaged during and after training.  Keep a handy supply of hard-boiled eggs in the fridge for snacks, salads or sandwiches.

4Leafy greens can contribute to a stronger skeleton. No bones about it: Like other forms of weight-bearing exercise, running is a bone-health boon. For extra help, munch on spinach and collard greens. The gang of greens boasts high levels of vitamin K, which aids with the production of protein essential for bone health.

2Oranges may accelerate your burn! The vitamin C content helps your body absorb bone-building calcium and has been shown to increase fat burn during exercise. You’ll see oranges on the sidelines of any road race: The juicy slices are the ultimate lift during or post-run.

1Sweet Potatoes provide sustained energy rather than the flash-and-burn jolt of simple, or white, carbs. The orange spuds’ serious punch of complex carbohydrates means they’re in it for the long haul! They also have protein, fiber, potassium and vitamins C and A.

The Truth about Lung Cancer : Prevention is better than Cure

Feb 19th, 2011 Posted in health, health care, lung cancer | no comment »

As some of you don’t know my husband is a smoker. He usually smokes about 6 cigarettes sticks a day and I really hate it. Especially when I read an article about lung cancer, I just got the urge to make him stop as soon as possible. I hope I can stop him totally before this year end.

For you who don’t know a thing about the lung cancer, here are some facts that I’ve gathered from my reads.

Did you know that approximately 31 males out of 100,000 are diagnosed with lung cancer every year? That’s why doctors encourage men to ensure a cancer-free lifestyle by proactively reducing cancer risks. Lung cancer is the number one cause of cancer-related deaths. Unfortunately, there is no effective early detection method for lung cancer. This means that patients are often diagnosed at an incurable stage. OH MY!

Smokers, who are at greater risk for lung cancer, should see a doctor when they notice the following symptoms:

• A Nagging cough
• Hoarseness
• Bloody or rust colored phlegm
• Persistent fever with no identifiable cause
• Recurring lung infections
• Shortness of breath
• Chest pains worsened by deep breathing
• Onset of wheezing
• Weight loss or loss of appetite

Please note that lung cancer is not only for me but also for women who are also chain smokers.

Overall, it is better to prevent the disease than to cure. So, as early as now I suggest that you smokers should end the habit. I know it’s really hard to quit but it is much manageable and easy to accept than to have cancer, right?
